Elgin Pocket Watch Poster

I was assigned the task of taking a Craiglist ad selling an Elgin Pocket Watch, and creating a poster for it.

I invoked a turn-of-the-century aesthetic, as it reflects the era of the pocket watch. The radial structure, inspired by Alphonse Mucha’s work, compliments the shape of the watch. The colours are sampled from the watch itself.

I used a railroad motif, because the accuracy of Elgin watches made them popular on the railroads. Collectors will appreciate this; the uninformed can appreciate it as an emotive decoration.
